Tupperware Brands Corporation reported in its 2013 1Q earnings global revenue of over $662 million

Tupperware Brands Corporation reported strong global net sales of over $662 million, with a third of that amount - $217 million - deriving from its European segment, showing the strength that European established market economies have in the corporation’s core business.

Mr. Rick Goings, Chairman and CEO, commented, “I’m pleased that our positive trends in sales and profit growth have continued in 2013, with local currency sales up 6%”, results which were in the mid-range of the company’s forecast. Furthermore, “Our ability to increase sales, even in challenging macro-economic environments, continues to illustrate the benefits of being a global portfolio of businesses in emerging and established markets, enabling us to consistently deliver solid top and bottom-line growth”, Mr. Goings said.
 
The group’s top performers in the quarter included a growing number of emerging markets, but CEO Rick Goings also mentioned that despite the potential economic and operational challenges  “Portugal, Belgium, Austria were all up double digit”. France and Italy results also showed marginal improvement compared with the 2012 4Q earnings, and Germany continues to be Tupperware’s biggest European market.
 
CEO Rick Goings stated “I’m confident that we’ll be able to grow our established markets in the future, as we continue to provide innovative products and a real earning opportunity to our sales force”.
